Another thing I tell people is that to lose weight you need to eat MORE, not less.

You can’t fool evolution. Your body knows the instant you skip a meal.

This is why most diets fail.

For example, in a 2013 study, researchers wanted to discover how much of an influence mental “self-talk” had on people suffering from anorexia.

So they recruited a group of women, and invited them into their lab to observe their behavior. What immediately stood out was how they walked through a doorway.

Instead of walking straight through a door like you or I would do, they would turn their body sideways.

In their mind, their body was too big to fit.9

Now you’re probably not suffering from anorexia, but the idea is clear:

Your brain acts in response to your beliefs and thought patterns.

If you lose some weight but your self-image is one of someone overweight—you’ll subconsciously self-sabotage.

It happens in all areas of your life, whether it’s your weight, your relationships, your happiness… and everything else.

  1. Block Cravings: The only way I’ve found to stop sugar cravings is to eat healthy fats. In fact, healthy fats not only help you feel full longer, but they also turn off the mechanism that makes you crave fattening, sugary foods.
  2. Eat More: Don’t starve yourself. Not only will eating more boost your metabolism, it also keeps you from reaching for food when you’re not hungry.
